Senator Jason Anavitarte, a Republican, has served in the Georgia State Senate since 2020. He represents Senate District 31, which includes all of Polk County and most of Paulding County. In 2003, Sen. Anavitarte became the youngest Hispanic elected in Georgia through his election to the City Council of his hometown, Doraville, Georgia. During his time serving on the City Council, Sen. Anavitarte also became one of the youngest to serve as Mayor Pro-Tempore in Georgia. In 2018, he was also elected to serve as a member of the Paulding County School Board. He has been recognized as one of the 50 Most Influential Latinos in Georgia, and has previously served as the 2016 Chairman for Senator Marco Rubio’s Georgia Presidential Campaign and a delegate for President Trump at his Republican National Convention. In 2020, he served as a senior advisor of the National Latinos for Trump coalition. Sen.
